Know exactly what's
in every drawer.

Parts Bin is a free, open-source inventory app for makers. Components, filament, PCBs and screws, tracked across the real bins on your bench, with a reorder link on every part. Nothing leaves your PC.

Windows first. The more support Parts Bin gets, the sooner macOS and Linux versions can follow. Free, open source, no account.

A spreadsheet knows what you own. Parts Bin knows where it is.

Built by a maker who kept re-buying 10K resistors. Every feature exists because it saved a trip to the drawers, or a duplicate order.

Physical location tracking

Map your shelves and drawer cabinets as a grid, then drop parts into real drawers. Every card shows Drawer 6x3 · #18, not just a name, and search finds parts by where they live as well as what they are.

Reorder links built in

Store a supplier link and part code on each item. Out of stock? The green Buy button takes you straight to the product page.

BOM in, order out

Import a parts list from your PCB design tool straight into your library, or into an Order so parts land when the box does. Export an order-ready file for your board house.

Print labels, scan to find

Print barcode labels in three sizes for drawers and bags. Point your camera at one and the app jumps to that part and tells you where it lives.

Packs and units

A bag of 100 resistors is 1 pack and 100 units. Parts Bin counts both, so "1.84 packs · 184 units" is exactly what's in the drawer.

Orders that restock themselves

Log an order with several products, add tracking and an expected date. Mark it arrived, or let it auto-receive, and every line is added to stock at once.

Projects with real parts

Allocate parts to a project and they come out of stock. Photos, a checklist with progress, and the project's total parts cost right on its card.

Your own tabs

Add sidebar tabs for Cables, Tools, Modules, whatever you keep. Each gets its own ID prefix. Hide the built-in tabs you don't use.

Private by design

Everything is saved in the app's own storage on your PC, with a hidden recovery snapshot on every save. Optional 4-digit PIN lock. Back up to a file any time.

An assistant that can see your drawers.

Open the Assistant tab and just ask. It reads your actual inventory, so "what can I build tonight?" gets an answer made from the parts you own, not a generic list.

  • Suggests projects you can build right now, and the parts you're missing for the ones you can't
  • Does things, not just talks. "Add 50 M3 screws to drawer 4" creates the item. It can create and edit items and projects, and add checklist steps
  • You stay in charge. Every change is one tap to Apply and always undoable
  • Remembers you. Tell it your favourite supplier or how you label drawers and it keeps that in mind next time
  • Your choice of brain. Bring your own key from a cloud AI provider, or run a local model on your PC so nothing leaves it. Off until you set it up
