Everything Parts Bin does.

If it's on this page, it's in the app. No "coming eventually".

Inventory

One card per part. Everything you'd want on it.

Each item gets an auto ID (C-0001 for components, F- filament, P- PCBs, S- screws), a photo, its drawer, unit price, supplier part code and a stock counter you can nudge with the plus and minus buttons.

  • Five live stats: items, total units, low stock, out of stock, inventory value
  • Search by name, ID, location or barcode; sort and filter by status
  • Packs and units. A bag of 100 counts as 1 pack and 100 units, so "1.84 packs · 184 units" is exactly right
  • Low and out-of-stock banners on the card, a per-item threshold, and optional in-app notifications
  • Filament is first-class: material, diameter, colour swatch, spool weight
  • Reorder in one click. The green Buy button opens the supplier page you saved on the part
  • Compact list view (new in V4): one dense row per part with the same steppers and a one-click reorder button

Map the real drawers. Then never lose a part again.

Add a storage unit, say "Drawer cabinet 6x3, bench left", and Parts Bin draws it as a grid. Click a drawer, pick a part, done. From then on the part's card reads Drawer cabinet 6x3 · #18, search matches on it, and the scanner can point you to it.

  • Any rows by columns; label empty drawers or link them to items
  • Stats for storage units, total drawers and drawers filled
  • Free-text locations too ("Shelf B") with autocomplete

Orders

An order holds several products with quantities, prices and destination drawers, plus a tracking number and expected date. When the box arrives, mark it and every line is added to inventory (or merged into an existing part) in one go. Turn on auto-receive and it happens on the expected date by itself. Arrived orders can auto-archive.

Projects

Give a project a description, photos and a checklist with a progress bar. Allocate the parts it needs and they're taken out of stock; delete the project and they go back. Each card shows the project's total parts cost. Finished projects can auto-archive.

Parts list in. Order-ready file out.

Export the parts list (BOM) from your PCB design tool, pick it in Parts Bin, review every row (add a buy link or photo), and Done adds them all as new items. Or drop them into an Order instead, so they only count once they arrive.

  • Import .xlsx or .csv
  • Export an order-ready CSV keyed on the supplier part code, ready to upload to your board house
  • Or a full CSV of every field for spreadsheets and backups
  • Scope: the current filtered view or the whole library. Items with no part code are counted and reported, never silently dropped
  • Exports are read-only. They never change your data

The assistant: an AI that can see your inventory and change it.

Open the Assistant tab and chat. It knows every item in your inventory, so it answers from what's actually on your bench. Ask what you're low on, what you can build right now, or what a project idea would still need.

  • Suggest projects buildable from your stock, each with the parts it uses. Recommend parts to round out what you have
  • Create and edit items (name, quantity, drawer, price, link), create and edit projects, and add checklist steps, all from a sentence
  • Apply, don't assume. It never changes anything by itself. Each change shows as a button; tap Apply (or turn on auto-apply) and every change is undoable
  • Memory. It remembers lasting facts about you, your tools and suppliers on its own, and you can give it standing instructions on how to behave
  • Slash commands for the common asks: /projects /parts /low /explain /set
  • Multiple chats, and it can read replies aloud
  • Your choice of model. Bring your own key from a cloud AI provider (stored only on your PC), or run a local model on your machine so nothing leaves it

The assistant is optional and off until you set it up in Settings. Everything else in Parts Bin works without it.

Assistant

What can I build right now?
LED desk lamp controller. You have the microcontroller module, the 3.3V regulator, a USB-C jack and 9 of the Rev C boards. The only missing part is the addressable LEDs (0 left). Want a project with the build steps?

Print labels

Barcode labels in small, medium or large for drawers, bags and spools. Select a few items, or the whole view, and hit Print labels.

Scan to find

Point your webcam at a label (or type its code) and Parts Bin jumps straight to that part and tells you which drawer it's in. Scanning runs on your PC, not in the cloud.

NEW IN V4

Calculator

A floating calculator that does maths and live currency conversion, so you can price an order without leaving the app.

NEW IN V4

Daily tasks

A small planner for what you're doing on the bench today. Because "solder the thing" lives next to the parts for the thing.

Custom tabs

Add your own sidebar tabs, each with an image and its own ID prefix (Stencils becomes T-0001). Hide any built-in tab you don't use; items stay in the library and still show under All.

Settings in tabs

General, Appearance, Sidebar tabs, Materials and locations, Notifications, Data and backup, Updates. Your name and greeting, currency symbol, default low-stock threshold, density, resizable sidebar.

9 style presets. 16 themes. Your accent, your font.

Presets rebuild the whole app: fonts, edges, backgrounds. Themes recolour it. Pick a base, override the accent with any hex colour, change the font, and choose comfortable or compact density. Hover a preset to see its colours on this site.

The 16 colour themes: Dark, Light, Paper, Snow, Mint, Sakura, Midnight, Ocean, Forest, Rose, Amber, Grape, Dracula, Nord, Sunset, Cyber.

Privacy and backups

Your data never leaves your PC.

There is no server. There is no account. Parts Bin can't upload your inventory because there's nowhere for it to go.

Saved on this PC

V4 stores everything in the app's own private storage. It survives restarts and updates.

Recovery snapshot

Every save also writes a hidden recovery copy. If the main store ever comes back empty, the snapshot restores itself.

Backup to file

Settings, Data and backup, Backup to file. Move your inventory to another PC or keep a spare copy. Restore from the same screen.

PIN lock

An optional 4-digit PIN, with "require when the app opens". A casual lock so others can't just open it. Stored on this PC only.

Updates when you want them

V4 never checks for updates on its own. Settings, Updates has a button that opens the Releases page in your browser. Run the new installer and your data isn't touched.

Open source

Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript inside a small native shell. Read every line on GitHub.
